There is always time for a burger

Burgers with homemade BBQ sauce

Ingredients (2-4 servings) recipe:

For the barbecue sauce:

  • 50 ml cider (apple) vinegar
  • 200 g ketchup
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 120 g light brown sugar (cassonade)
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • few Tabasco drops
  • salt, pepper

In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together. Once they are well mixed, transfer them into a sauce pan. Let the sauce cook in a medium heat, for about an hour. Stir from time to time. Once the sauce becomes a bit thicker, remove the sauce pan from the heat and let it cool down.

For the burgers:

  • 350 g pork fillet
  • 200 g barbecue sauce
  • 4 burger buns
  • 2 tbs oil olive
  • 1 tomato
  • iceberg
  • oregano
  • salt, pepper

Mince the pork fillet (or try to chop it in very fine pieces) and let it marinade into the barbecue sauce over night. do not forget to keep some barbecue sauce aside in order to use it in the end. Form the burgers in the size you prefer. In the meantime heat the olive oil in a pan. Place the burgers and let them fry for 2 minutes on each side. Lower the heat to medium and continue cooking for 3 more minutes on each side. Cut the tomatoes in thin slices and season with salt and some oregano. Cut the buns into 2 and heat them in the oven for about 2 minutes at 150°C. Spread some barbecue sauce on the bottom bun, place an iceberg round, the juice burger and the slice of tomato.
